You've seen our book. I a book with lots of color, photos, recipes, and family tree. So we used a 3 ring binder, which i covered in fabric.

The first part is the family tree part. Following that there are pictures, and favorite recipes of those in the pictures, as well as short antidotes from family members. I also added a few friends who are like family to us.

I like the three ring binder, as i can easily add more, as the family grows.

Also, from my original binder/book; i color copied the the pages, and lamented them, and then had them made into a spiral bound book here at our local print shop. There is one book for each of my children. The boys will get theirs when they get married.

The reason for laminating: If they use them as a cook book, and spill something on it, it will wipe right off.

Having lost my grandmother and several of her recipes with her; i wanted to be able to share family history, pictures and food favs with my children that would make it more personal for them.

Here I have to agree. A true and well documented family history regardless of the items that are found and verified ais important. And just because it was in a family tree DOES NOT make it true. For instance it was in a family book that the name of my grandmother 3 x removed was one thing and with the marriage certificate I proved it was wrong. But it was not just held to the family book, others had taken the information and it was plastered all over the internet etc. Proof before publishing..Publish make sure you document..and give credit to where credit is due.
