"I am so thrilled at all of the "Treasure Maps". I will have lots to read and get into my mind the direction I need to go. With Treasure Maps I feel a sense of direction. I have read many tips on genealogy but I'm impressed with the way you explain the ins and outs. I haven't had that feeling of feeling lost before I start. Thank you for the clarity of your messages and keep up the good work! Will look forward to future issues." (Joyce Medina) more

"Aunts and Uncles" - by Ellen Ragan

What a broad title for such a group of special people. They start out just to be our parent's brothers and sisters, but as we grow, they grow to be a part of us.

Sometimes they live far, far away, sometimes they live across the street, but no matter what, when we least expect it, there they are to be a part of our ever active lives.

Sometimes we, the nieces and nephews forget to tell them how much they mean to us... and that, we think of them often, and are anxious to see them again.

They can be very inspirational with all their wisdom. They always have a story to tell. Occasionally you find out some of your parent's secrets.

Sometimes the smallest things can remind you of them, from jelly beans to garage sales, thrift stores to rooms full of books, and hats to cameras... but assuredly we know that no one can replace the thoughts that remind us of them... they are all very special in their own way.

We know we are fortunate with being from a big family as we have several aunts and uncles, but know if your family is small, you can always adopt your own. Everyone knows that adopted Aunts and Uncles are special too...

So let's not ever forget the part of our character which they contributed to... and let's be sure to let them know they mean the world to us!!

For without them everything would be our parents fault... ha! ha! ha!
